The Business Groups view displays the business groups that exist at the current scope level. A business group is a collection of business organizations such as line operators, rail operators, trucking companies, and agents. A business group indicates which organizations a user represents When you associate a business group with a user in the User form (on page 1), the user can only access data associated with the business organizations listed in the business group.
A business group represents who the user works for either as an agent or as an employee. Business groups should not be used to add constraints, such as contract relationships between shipping lines and trucking company. That should be done through the gate configuration and the Trucking Company Line form (Trucking Company).
You can add, edit, and delete business groups from the Business Groups view.
In addition, you can use the Actions menu to:
Recover Obsolete: Recover deleted business groups
Purge: Purge business groups
Export SNX File: Export the selected business groups as an XML file using the snx.xsd format
Copy Reference Set: Copy business groups from another entity set
To add a new record:
